Skoda will use the Geneva Motor Show in March to unveil the five-door version of its new Citigo compact hatchback.
Skoda says both three-door and five-door versions of the Citigo will be on-sale in Europe in May.
With interior room amongst the best in the compact segment and a five-star EuroNCAP barrier test result, Skoda is keen to get the Citigo on-sale as the Czech-Republic company reckons the newcomer is a key plank in its charter of continuing sales growth. Last year Skoda sold an all-time record of 879,200 vehicles and wants to achieve 1.5-million annual sales by 2018.
Skoda Citigo is powered by two versions of Volkswagen Group’s new three-cylinder petrol engine either 44kW or 55kW. The most fuel-efficient version is badged as ‘Green tec’ and returns fuel consumption of 4.1l/100kms and exhaust emissions as low as 96g/km.
