Pulsar returns to the Nissan lineup in 2012 – one of eight new models the Japanese giant will launch next year.
The all-new Pulsar will bow in sedan form in Japan early next year just a few months before the popular nameplate returns to Australian Nissan dealerships. The good-looking all-new Pulsar sedan will be followed a little later by hatchback models.
Next year Nissan will also add a new compact sedan model called the Almera which will sit alongside the hot-selling Micra in the mini-car segment. Nissan was quick to point out the Almera will compete in a segment vacated by major rivals – Mazda no longer sells the Mazda2 sedan and Toyota’s all-new Yaris is currently an exclusive hatchback model.
Also scheduled for Australia next year is the all-new Y62 Nissan Patrol. The stunning new Patrol has been previewed and we know it’s a super-luxury SUV powered by a V8 petrol engine. Nissan will still cater for lower-priced Patrol diesel customers with an updated version of the existing Y61 model.
And of course the all-new LEAF electic car will join the Nissan lineup from June.
Nissan’s other SUV stalwart, the excellent Pathfinder gets an all-new model which will debut early next month at the Detroit Auto Show. However says the Pathfinder is a 2013 proposition for Australia.
And Nissan’s premium brand Infiniti returns to Australia next year with a four-model lineup – FX, M, G Coupe and G sedan.
