Its been a long time coming but finally an all-new model from Honda – the latest CRV has debuted at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
Styling is evolutionary but the downward sloping roofline is thoroughly modern and the front end has more than a passing resemblance to the Accord Euro.
Under the bonnet is an updated version of Honda’s 2.4-litre four-cylinder delivering 125kW/218Nm and driving through a five-speed automatic transmission. Fuel economy is rated as low as 9.0l/100kms.
In North America, the all-new CRV will be sold in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. An interesting innovation is Honda’s new Real Time All-Wheel-Drive System which uses a compact transfer case and multi-plate clutch with individual drive shafts to the left and right rear wheels.
No word on local plans but you can lock-in the all-new CRV for Australian launch sometime next year.
