While Honda Australia currently does not have a diesel-powered vehicle in its range, Honda in Britain has announced the 2012 Civic range will be boosted by a revised 2.2-litre diesel with cleaner emissions and more power.
Honda’s 2.2-litre i-DTEC engine will deliver 110kW/350Nm and exhaust C02 emissions of 110g/km (that’s 29 g/km less than Honda’s previous diesel).
Naturally substantial engineering delivered these improvements – Honda says adoption of auto star/stop alone accounted for a five g/km drop in emissions.
Honda Civic’s new body has also been honed in the wind tunnel to maximise aerodynamic efficiency.
