BMW Australia has announced prices for the all-new 3 Series lineup which will be launched locally in February.

The good news is BMW has sharpened its pencils – the range-topping 335i is 15 per cent down on its predecessor (335i M Sport) at $91,900 while the mid-range BMW 328i (replacing the 325i) is $5,000 cheaper at $66,900.

BMW’s sixth-generation 3 Series runs an exclusive TwinPower Turbo engine lineup with auto start/stop and an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.

BMW will offer the all-new 3 Series in three grades – ‘Sport Line’, ‘Modern Line’, and ‘Luxury Line’.

Entry-level 320d gains a new 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine (135kW/380Nm) plus electric front seats, front park distance control and keyless start/stop. Fuel consumption is improved to 4.5l/100kms.

BMW’s mid-range 328i goes to a turbocharged, 2.0-litre, four-cylinder powerplant with 180kW/350Nm. This eclipses the previous 325i’s six-cylinder and delivers better fuel consumption – 6.3l/100kms.

And the range-topping BMW 335i delivers 225kW/400Nm from its turbocharged six-cylinder engine.

Size is up – the wheelbase 50mm longer, the track is wider and luggage space boosted to 480-litres (and the rear seat split-folds 40/20/40).

The all-new design brings extra interior space and of course, in typical BMW style, significant new technology including a four-mode ‘Driving Experience Control’ which alters the drivetrain and suspension settings for Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and ECO PRO.

The full BMW 3 Series lineup is:
320d $60,900
328i $66,900
335i $91,900
