Audi’s new A6 Avant (wagon) has gone on-sale priced from $81,800.
The good-looking newcomer is powered by a choice of two 2.0-litre turbocharged engines (132kW petrol and 130kW diesel). Fuel consumption is down by up to 21 per-cent with the 2.0TDI diesel now averaging just 5.1l/100kms.
And along with the handsome styling, the latest Audi A6 Avant has shed up to 70kgs compared to its predecessor.
Out-back a smart sensor system enables hands-free opening of the tailgate. Sensors located under the rear bumper detect your foot and automatically raise the tailgate – just the thing when you’re loaded with groceries, luggage or sporting goods.
Luggage capacity is 565-litres with the rear seat in-place or a handy 1,680-litres when folded.
As usual with Audi, technology is abundant – including a first for the A6 Avant in a four-camera 360-degree view and Park Assist self-parking.
“The new Audi A6 is already an Australian success story,” revealed Audi Australia chief Uwe Hagen. “It has won numerous awards both here and internationally and offers a five-star safety rating with a very high level of standard specification. The A6 Avant will add a new dimension to the successful A6 family, offering best-in-class design, efficient engines and the versatility of a large, practical luggage area. It’s the ideal vehicle form active Australian families.
