High Hopes For Updated Volkswagen Tiguan
August wasn't a good month for Volkswagen. Sales of its once-dominant Tiguan compact SUV were down by 22 per cent compared to 2009 as rivals like the Nissan Dualis, Honda CRV and newcomers like the Mitsubishi ASX and Kia Sportage captured the hearts and wallets of new car buyers.
So the German giant has fired back with the 2011 Tiguan range which sees the introduction of its latest wet-plate clutch seven-speed Direct Shift Transmission (DSG) automatic.
Not only does the new transmission improve the Tiguan's driving dynamics, fuel consumption dives by up to 16 per cent.
Significantly, the 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan sees no increase in prices.
The range is:
- 125TSI 6-speed manual $33,990
- 125TSI 7-speed DSG $36,490
- 103TDI 6-speed manual $36,690
- 103TDI 7-speed DSG $39,190
- 147TSI 7-speed DSG $42,990
