The Renault Koleos – an award-winning crossover that is a favourite with the Car Showroom team – gains extra specifications and better prices in its 2010 model year upgrades.

While the entry-level ‘Dynamique’ 2WD model (manual transmission) remains priced at $31,490, the 2010 version gains TomTom satellite navigation, Bluetooth, Multi-Media connection box, premium ARKAMYS audio system and a new rear spoiler.

‘Dynamique’ 2WD auto gets all that and a $500 price cut to $33,490. Likewise the ‘Dynamique’ 4x4 petrol auto also boasts the extra kit but its price is lopped by $1,000 to $36,990, while the price of the ‘Dynamique’ 4x4 diesel automatic remains unchanged at $39,990 (it too gets the extra goodies).
The range-topping ‘Privelege’ 4x4 petrol gets the same extra kit as the ‘Dynamique’ except the audio is now a BOSE system. It also gains a sunroof and carbon-fibre look trim for the centre console.

‘Privelege’ is gloriously finished inside with a new charcoal colour for the leather seats (beige remains a no-cost extra) – price is up by $1,000 to $43,990.

Engine remain unchanged – a 2.5-litre petrol with 126kW/226Nm and driving through either a six-speed manual or CVT automatic. The diesel is a 2.0-litre with 110kW/320Nm driving through a six-speed automatic.

Typically Renault, the Koleos boasts state-of-the-art safety and driving dynamics aids and adds up to a very well-specified, nice-to-drive, versatile and value-for-money European crossover/compact SUV.
