Audi Launches New TT Coupe 1.8 TFSI
Audi has revised the TT Coupe lineup with the addition of a new entry-level model powered by the turbocharged 1.8-litre TFSI engine and a Quattro AWD version of the TT 2.0-litre TFSI (in both coupe and Roadster derivatives).
Priced at $64,900, the new entry-level 1.8-litre TFSI TT Coupe drives the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission and, with fuel consumption of just 6.7l/100kms, it is entirely exempt from LCT.
With direct injection, the 1.8-litre TFSI combines that great economy with outstanding performance. Maximum power is 118kW, peak torque of 250Nm is available from 1,500 rpm and the new entry-level TT sprints from zero to 100km/h in just 7.2 seconds.
In other changes, Audi has added new Quattro all-wheel-drive models – 2.0-litre TDI diesel is now available with Quattro and a manual transmission and there is a new 2.0-litre TFSI petrol Quattro with six-speed S-Tronic automatic.
Audi has enhanced the performance of the Quattro system with a new accumulator in the hydraulically activated multi-disk clutch which redirects power to the rear wheels in milliseconds.
The Roadster version with Quattro is still a couple of months away.
