Nissan Australia has expanded its range of compact cars with the launch of the all-new Almera sedan priced from $16,990.
Previously the Almera was a British market mid-size vehicle which was the basis of Nissan’s British Touring Car Championship efforts but the all-new compact model now in Australia is manufactured in Thailand and uses the same platform as the Micra hatchback.
Styling is impressive – the Nissan Almera delivering a European-inspired look which stands out compared to some bland rivals.
Like the Micra, the Nissan Alera is powered by Nissan’s 75kW/139Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine driving through either a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic.
Nissan Australia dealers will offer the Almera in two model grades with the familiar Nissan nomenclature – ST for the entry-level and Ti for the range-topper.
Amongst the extras, Ti versions gain 15-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, a rear spoiler, rear parking sensors and climate control air-conditioning.
The full range is:
Almera ST manual $16,990
Almera ST automatic $18,990
Almera Ti automatic $20,990
