Daimler’s Smart brand will launch a facelifted Smartfortwo model in the European spring.
Styling upgrades give the cute compact a more substantial look – the grille is larger, there is a new front apron, horizontal LEDs, side skirts and a new rear apron. The Smart logo is now positioned centre of the black grille and under the bonnet a large single air inlet replaces the previous twin inlets.
Three new alloy wheels are also available – including a stylish nine-spoke design, three spokes and three twin-spokes.
A new matt anthracite exterior colour boost the palette to seven colours.
Inside, the colour scheme goes to a new crystal grey and includes new leather/fabric for the seats and door trims, a grey knee pad and black imitation leather for the instrument panel.
With more than 1.3 million Smarts already on the road, the German compact has certainly captured the imagination of city residents who appreciate the nimble and fuel-sipping three-cylinder.
Mercedes-Benz Australia will announce local details closer to launch.
